We spent our honeymoon sailing around in the Stockholm archipelago. Although most days were foggy, stormy, rainy, or all three, we had a great time! Besides, considering how lucky we were on the wedding day, we didn't really deserve good weather on the honeymoon. Of nearly two weeks of sailing only three days were sunny but they were well distributed - first day, last day, and one day in the middle.

Starting from our house in lake Mälaren we got as far as Stora Nassa, a small island group on the outer part of the archipelago. Not so far really but then we weren't sailing for distance. After enjoying a sunny day there (that was the day in the middle ;) we were chased out during the night by strong winds and ended up in Björkskär, an idyllic island a bit further south. The weather forced us to stay there for a few days longer than planned but that was fine, apart from the good company the boat was also filled with good food, games, and musical instruments. The last day was beautiful - blue skies, sunshine, and just the right wind - we got all the way back to Bullandö in four hours!

Leaving Björkskär on a beautiful sunny day. Although we like to think that most days were like this...

... this would be a more realistic picture.

We found a message in a bottle! It said "Happy Easter! You are ugly!".

... but the best protection is to cozy up down in the cabin.
